Hackerspace Happenings: Find JB at Maker Faire, Earn 5 in Shed Money

Hackerspace Members: Going to Maker Faire? Get $125 in Maker Shed Loot!

I will be at Maker Faire all day Saturday and Sunday A.M., and I want to hear about your awesome hackerspace projects! Find me at the Faire (might want to start at the MAKE table…) and regale me with your space’s skills. Tell me about your project, and commit to posting it to Make: Projects. After the Faire I’ll randomly choose two project posters to each receive a $125 gift certificate from the Maker Shed. Aw yeah! (This is limited to new M:P projects!)

Global Synchronous Hackathon This Saturday

For those unfortunates not going to Maker Faire, you might want to participate in the 19th Global Synchronous Hackathon this Saturday night. The optional topic is “Non-Newtonian Fluid Challenge”… ooookay! If you want to follow along with the hacking, Alpha One Labs’ Hackerspace Matrix aggregates the Ustream feeds of participated spaces.

Are you a hackerspace member with an event you’d like to publicize? Send it to johnb@makezine.com or tweet me at @johnbaichtal and I’ll post it. Also feel free to subscribe to my hackerspaces Twitter list. Hackerspace Happenings will run weekly Tuesdays, and the next one will come out May 24th.
