Handmade Nation Silent Art Auction

Handmade Nation
director Faythe Levine has spent every last penny (and worn out every last credit card) financing her film, which follows the new wave of art, craft, and design. To help offset the costs that are now piling up on post-production, she’s teamed up with the folks at Poketo to hold a Silent Art Auction fundraiser in Los Angeles this Saturday night, July 19. An astounding array of artwork has been donated by 30+ fabulous creators, including Sarah Neuburger, Diem Chau, Kime Buzzelli, Emily Eibel, Lisa Congdon, Nikki McClure and many more.
The first 50 auction guests will enjoy swag bags featuring donations by Happy Owl Glassworks, Bubble Roome Soap, Supermaggie, Ex Libris Anonymous and more. At 7pm, Faythe will screen a new 20-minute clip from the film (which I had the great honor to view early–it brought me to tears!), and at 7:30 the bidding will begin. There will be a cash bar and inspirational artwork as far as the eye can see. If you’re anywhere near Los Angeles this weekend, I urge you to attend this important (and fun!) event.
