“Hideous” Birds

HideousBirds.jpg
I love the colorful mix of patterns and colors in these plush parrots created by Craftster user Karen_Sweet. Turns out they had a somewhat dubious beginning…

About a year ago, I came up with a way to put my collection of vintage polyester shirts to good use. I’ve been making “Hideous Birds” ever since.

I love the name, but definitely think they’re anything but hideous!

I hate when people miss the point. These birds are totally hideous, but you know, in a good way. Don’t you dare say that they aren’t because they are.
The amazing thing about these birds is that they are hideous yet awesome all at the same time. Karen has a great eye for colour and pattern, especially when the task is mashing them all together in a pleasing way.
Just remember, hideous doesn’t have to be a bad thing, in fact, most times it’s just the opposite.
