Prototype This, the short-lived engineering show on Discovery Channel that offered a view into the real-life process of designing and building unique prototypes has completed filming and the production company is liquidating the warehouse on Treasure Island in San Francisco. They’re holding a yardsale on Sunday, February 8, from 11am to 3pm and will have office furniture, welding and workshop equipment, tools, props, cars, toys, electronics, and random bits and pieces of other stuff. Cash only. MAKE technical advisory board member Joe Grand was a co-host for the thirteen episode series and the program’s electrical engineer and hardware hacker – he says “It will be worth the trip for anyone in the Bay Area! We are located at 200 California Ave, Treasure Island, 94130. We have random bits already up on Craigslist, Misc Office Furniture, Welding and Workshop Equipment, Tools, Props, Cars, toys, and so much more!”

So they cancel this great show but continue to advertise their silly show about the logging industry – hmmm… which do I watch – a cool show about a team building cool things or a show about guys cutting down trees?
I can’t do like a lot of fans and say I’ll never watch the Discovery Channel again, because that would be a lie… but I certainly won’t invest in a show early on until it proves that they’ll keep it around.
Attn: Discovery Big Wigs: I think you’ve forgotten the core purpose of your channel and which shows deserve proper promotion.
I’m in canada and i haven’t had the opportunity to watch this show other than some of the torrents floating around. I really liked the show, but now its cancelled.
James, you have to remember that it’s not about YOU. It’s about what makes TDC money.
