As a part of Youth Baseball Week, The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum hosted a Stitch N’ Pitch event a few weeks ago on April 19th. About 150-170 people stop by for lessons on either needlepoint or crochet. Libby Butler-Gluck of TNNA and Stitch N’ Pitch remarked that interestingly enough, most wanted a needlepoint lesson. Kids and parents needlepoint a baseball bookmark and if they choose crochet they got to make wrist warmers. Check out more photos in the flickr set. Pictured above is my friend, knitting hero, and SF Giants Stitch N’ Pitch coordinator, Barbara Paley teaching a young girl how to crochet.
With baseball season gearing up, if you’re headed out to one of the games head on over to the Stitch N’ Pitch shop for hats, t-shirts, and totes show off your addiction. Check out the schedule of major league and minor league games.
