We are thrilled to be announcing the upcoming launch of Maker Camp on Google+. We’ve teamed up with the folks at Google to create an awesome virtual summer camp, as part of our Summer of Making activities. It’s 30 days of 30 projects with online how-tos, camp counselors and “expert” makers to help you with your builds, G+ hangouts, online field trips, and much more. It’s going to be a blast. The camp is free, there’s no registration, and you can plug in and out as you please. The camp is directed at teens 13-18, but cyber-campers and at-home tinkerers of all ages can participate, too.
Every day of camp has a different theme: Maker Monday, Tinkering Tuesday, Weird Science Wednesday, and Theoretical Thursday. Field Trip Fridays will find the campers virtually visiting such awesome places as the home of Arc Attack, Ford’s Research Lab, CERN, and MakerBot Industries. Counselors will include Mark Frauenfelder, MAKE’s editor in chief, the amazing Limor Fried of Adafruit, kid maker superstar Joey Hudy, and many others.
To find out more, visit the Maker Camp site here on Makezine and follow us on Google+. Camp officially kicks off on July 16th. See you there, campers!
