CRAFT’s own Katie Dougherty took a visit to Oklahoma City this weekend for the big Girlie Show event!
Here’s her recap of the event by Katie:
Howdy from Oklahoma City! I attended the Girlie Show this weekend on behalf of CRAFT. The Girlie Show took place in the Farmers Market Building, which was built in 1932. It is a very funky space with lots of character. The event began Friday night at 8pm and lasted until Midnight. People were standing in line at 5 pm! They were also dressed up to the nines. The show had about 40 vendors and most of the crafts were unique. There was a DJ, a bar, and lots of food vendors. Approximately 2,000 people came on Friday night. Saturday the show was during the day only and they had an impressive line up of live music all day!
The show was impeccably organized and well thought out. It was more of an event than a typical craft fair. It was really quite impressive. Oklahoma City is one crafty place!
See you all in Austin at Maker Faire,
Katie
