The chunk is happening. Competition firing started at 10 AM, with the big air cannons. Not sure why, but they moved up the line much more slowly than is usual (they hadn’t reached the halfway point by the scheduled end of firing). As a result most of the mechanical catapults didn’t get a chance to make a competition shot before the day had to be called on account of darkness.
So those of us with catapults, have to be ready to fire by 7:30 am tomorrow, YUK. Normally this would be helpful for our team, as we have trouble getting set up in time for the first days shot. This year, despite some problems with the engine of the hydraulic system that is the heart of setting up the machine, we were ready long before they got to even the first of the mechanical machines. For a change we got to see the other machines firing, instead of frantically welding away praying we finish before the firing line gets to us…
You can learn more about our machine (Mista Ballista) at http://www.siege-engine.com
