The text and pictures came from the books by Richard Graves. These resources aren’t quite 100 years old (published in the 1972), but are still excellent for any outdoors person. The rammed earth house always fascinated me. I was fortuante to pick up a copy at a thrift store a few years back.
This book is still in print ther is no need to spoil this excellent site by ripping offf other peoples without even the courtesy of attribution
There’s pretty thorough attribution on the introduction page. The link in the story is to the first section.
I can’t comment on the copyright or print status of the book, but I seriously doubt that it was initially published in 1972 (since it was originally written as a wartime instructional aid and the author died in 1971) – perhaps crrieger has a reprint?
“Bushcraft” (1974 USA)and “Australian Bushcraft”(1984 Australia)by Richard Graves, were first printed by the Australian Government for the visiting United States Army Air Force in about 1943, as a series of ten pamphlets.
