5 Ways to Celebrate World Cup Brazil Maker Style!

We know a good portion of you enjoy a good game of football soccer. With the FIFA World Cup Brazil starting today, you are probably looking for ways to celebrate in between bouts of staring at the games and cheering like a lunatic. Well, we wouldn’t want you to have to spend those precious few moments during commercials or in-between matches trying to think of something on your own, so here are 5 ways to celebrate the world cup Maker style!

1. Print your favorite mascot!

Ultimaker has released mascots for download on youmagine, their fully open source object hosting system for you to print on your own. You can also throw these at your television in the event that your team does poorly or a ref makes a poor call.

2. Make your own ball from trash

Of course you may not have a ball lying around. If that is the case, you could toss together a ball from trash. While the one in this video is fairly involved, we know that really if you kick anything hard enough it becomes a “ball”. Just be careful not to break your foot.

3. Watch robots play soccer over the net!

They may not be as elegant, skilled, graceful, or as talented as your favorite star, but they also won’t take a dive any chance they get. You can learn about and watch robots play soccer over the internet! Even if there isn’t a show going on right now, there are a few pre-recorded ones for your pleasure.

4 and 5, get inspired by soccer themed stuff people have made!

Not really sure how inspiring this is, but without a doubt, any die hard soccer fan will enjoy this sculpture. Made by Eugenio Merino, it is a part of a series of skulls made with different items.
