Our new issue of CRAFT: 10 hits the newsstands next Tuesday but I can’t contain myself over our new cover girl, Amy Sedaris. The suspense is too much and I feel like Kristin Wig’s character in that SNL Surprise Party skit. (An impression that I love to do, btw.)
Amy Sedaris not only is the funny lady we come to love on TV and the movies, she’s a fellow crafter which makes her all the more fun. I met Amy in the summer of 2007 in Chicago when we both spoke on a crafting panel at BlogHer along with Crafty Chica, Kristin Roach, and Leah Peterson. (You can hear the audio from our panel at Craftsanity.) In person, she’s down to earth and just has that quick wit of hilariousness that keeps you on your toes. After our panel, we all hung out for the rest of the day, including Amy’s booksigning.
It was there that I got a chance to film her for our first CRAFT video podcast where she shows us how to make a eye pillow from old pantyhose, a project from her book, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence. You can watch the video below.
From the pages of CRAFT: 10:
