In just under two weeks, Maker Faire Austin visitors will have the chance to deconstruct, reconstruct and transform clothing at the popular Swap-O-Rama-Rama. Austinites can get a taste of that fun and find inspiration at this weekend’s Treasure City Thrift Recycled Fashion Show. Hosted by the Treasure City Thrift Store (a volunteer-run, collectively organized and not-for-profit venture) and Maker Faire participant, iLoveMikeLitt, the event showcases fashions made by Austin DIY designers who transform tossed out trends into hot items for today. You’ll also be able to see some of the designers the following weekend at Maker Faire. You can read more about the event on the Treasure City Thrift Recycled Fashion Show web site, and RSVP via Facebook.
