Bag Patterns Book – Call for Designer Submissions

This in from one of our crafty friends, Shannon Okey of knitgrrl.com, as posted on craftster.org:

A major fiber arts publisher has asked me to write a multi-designer book of bag patterns, and they want to really focus on independent designers. If you’d like to submit a design for consideration, I’d love to see it! Here’s what I need from you now:

* a photo or photos of the bag in question — if it’s not made yet, a sketch is fine

* info on the materials and techniques used so we can make sure there’s a wide range

* your contact info (name, email, phone if you want, website if you have one)

Send this to bags@knitgrrl.com

I’d like to see bags of all material types and techniques — everything from sewn, quilted, felted, knitted, recycled, nuno-felted, embellished, lalalalala to (surprise me).

If you know of a really cool bag design — perhaps something you’ve seen here on Craftster — and you want to nominate its creator, send me a link to the thread and I’ll contact the designer myself!

You will be paid, plus get full credit and bio info. This publisher is particularly designer-friendly in terms of copyright, too.

I’m also interested in interviewing designers who primarily create bags for “designer spotlights” (if you’ve seen my book Spin to Knit, think the spinner profiles I did there).

I’ll be teaching in Ontario and Massachusetts next week so might not see in-thread replies as fast as I usually would, so please send questions to the email address above, it’s easier for me to check that. Thanks so much!
