Tell us about the stuff you’ll be showcasing at Maker Faire/Bazaar Bizarre:
I will be selling handmade underwear for women. Every bra and panty set made is something special: color, pattern, design and detail. Fabric is bought in small quanties, so only a limited number of pairs can be made in each style. Since my underwear is made by hand, if you can’t find your size I can make it to measure.

How did you get started hand crafting your goods?
I was taught to sew by my grandmother, but until recently I only ever made clothes for myself. However, just over a year ago I bought myself a serger and after a few trials and errors managed to make a pair of panties. Realizing the endless possibilities of pantie design, never again would I have to purchase boring nude underwear.
What are your main sources of inspiration?
Mostly fabric. I always have the fabric before I have the design. I love the garment district in LA. One of my favorite things to do is shop for fabric. I’m also inspired by Margo from The Good Life – a 70’s sitcom where the character, Margo, would often get dressed for dinner in a maxi dress, even if it was just in her house. I’d like to think that I could aspire to be someone who wears maxi dresses for dinner.

What new idea (in or outside of your field) has excited you most recently?
Not an idea as such but I am very excited by pom poms at the moment.
What is your motto?
I can make that.
