Book Review: Appliqué Your Way

A book that’s sure to inspire and motivate you to start stitching is Kayte Terry’s new book, Appliqué Your Way: 35 Pretty Sewing Projects and Patterns. I’ve always been a fan of her work and in this book, Kayte shows you the ins-and-outs of appliqué from the basics to creating decorative stitches. Learn how to make a Reverse Appliqué Market Tote, a Felted Faux Bois Scarf, and lots more. All of the project photos are gorgeous crafty eye-candy and will give you lots of inspiration. There are so many projects you can just craft and make right away. Perfect for last minute holiday gifts!
Speaking of which, I got a chance to ask Kayte which projects in the book she’d recommend as perfect last-minute holiday gifts to make. Take it away Kayte!

I don’t know about you but I am will be making holiday presents until the very last minute this holiday! If you still need a few ideas, these projects are perfect for quick and easy holiday gifts! And the great thing about all the appliqué projects in my book is that you can pick out fabrics and colors to suit anyone on your list!
The Woodland Creature Ornaments are a perfect gift for the holidays and they don’t require a sewing machine so you can even work on them when you are traveling! You could also make them as gift tie-ons to add to another present.
A set of Quilt Squares Card tied up with some pretty pencils would be a great gift for a friend you loves to write. You can also save these and use them as your thank-you cards for after the holidays.
