Catching up with OpenROV at National Maker Faire

openrov

OpenROV, with a mission to make affordable underwater robots for exploration and research, is a standout of the Maker Movement. In just three years since launching, they’ve become one of the largest manufacturers of underwater robotics, used on countless missions by everyone from students to professionals. Their designs are open-source and available for anyone to build, using standard components like the Beaglebone Black.

We caught up with the OpenROV team at the National Maker Faire to see what they were showing and watch them demo one of their units inside the fountain at the University of the District of Columbia.
