I didn’t say anything on the previous link to this but where am I gonna find a food grade garbage disposal? I doubt anyone will drop dead from this but the metal components in a disposal are a long way from the stainless steel and food grade plastics that I’d like to see. I suppose a disposal is built to resist actually corrosion but it certainly could leach into the margarita mix which could have health consequences not to mention your margarita could taste “off.”
A healthier version might be to meld the cooler with a margarita/smoothie maker.
I suppose it’s all moot since at my parties the cooler is next to a tray of salt and a bucket of ice so people get their margaritas on the rocks as God intended! =)
There are plenty of disposals with stainless parts. Dunno bout the plastic but the grinders are stainless.

Let’s be clear about one thing. Anyone making this contraption, nevermind drinking from it, is certainly not the most health conscious individual known to man. And Deanster’s reference to a tray of salt? My arteries are getting hard just thinking about it! I think the health consequences experienced from the potential leaching of disposal byproduct into the margarita wouldn’t hold a candle to liver damage I would expect from drinking what I would imagine to be the bathtub tequila used to fill this vat! I’ll stick to my Cabo Wabo, one shot at a time, no training wheels please.
