Starting tomorrow, Barnes & Noble bookstores across the United States will be hosting a Mini Maker Faire to run all weekend long, November 6–8. Make: is very excited to announce this partnership, because Makers now have a new opportunity to show off their inventions, share ideas, and meet other Makers in their community. All 650 Barnes & Noble locations will be participating, so check out the closest store to you to join in on the fun!

Now Barnes & Noble customers who know us through Make: will be introduced to the Maker Faire experience. With access to tools and resources, they can learn new skills, discover their personal making passion, and be inspired by local Makers in their communities.”
Kathleen Campisano, Vice President, Toys & Games at Barnes & Noble, is also excited to host the event. “Literacy is at the core of what we do, and rolling out the first-ever Mini Maker Faire in stores nationwide signals our commitment to what we believe it means to be literate in the 21st century,” Campisano says. “Tech literacy and being tech literate is a huge part of engaging in everyday life and remaining connected to the world.”
The Mini Maker Faire will consist of three main parts. The Make Workspace will showcase the latest technologies in 3D printing, robotics, coding, programming, and more. The Make & Collaborate area encourages attendees as young as 5-years-old to get hands-on and immerse themselves in project-based learning in topics that include rapid prototyping, circuitry, art, design, construction, programming, coding, and 3D printing. The final part, Meet the Makers, will vary by location, although the first five authors’ books will be available at every store.
