Felix Populi by Brini Maxwell

Daniel Carter, our Creative Director on CRAFT & MAKE is also a crafty style maven himself! Recently, he found an extra special treat that he now shares with us on the CRAFT blog.

Check out Felix Populi, a brand new online shop featuring whimsical, smartly-designed, freshly Mod fashion for your home by the fabulous Brini Maxwell. She features two lines of fantastic tasseled pillows: “Carnaby Street” comes in oranges, blacks, and silvers, and “Think Pink” comes in, well, pinks and browns — the graphic patterns, gigantic tassels, and sly fabric choices turn these luscious pillows into little sculptural wonders. And just released last week are the hot fuchsia and orange dishtowels (complete with giant lacy hearts) and the quirky transparent vinyl “Heart Apron,” which will definitely give your kitchen a diva vibe like no other.
If you’re not familiar with Brini, take a look at her book, “Brini Maxwell’s Guide to Gracious Living,” and her hilarious, retro-inspired show. Brini’s subversive humor, ability to match the perfect outfit to any well-designed room, and surprisingly useful tips for crafts, interior decorating, and entertaining, are all delivered in a fun, light-hearted way with just the right dose of irony thrown in for good measure. It’s like a 1960s era Connecticut suburban mom got a hold of a few interior design books, downed a stiff martini, and started filming her inspired design and entertaining tips for her friends.
