The concept of having archived photos displayed in my living room is exactly what I have been looking for. I am not, however, a programmer, and don’t understand the links. Could you explain how this works? Is there something available to purchase or modify to create a display system for photos like this? Does one need an xbox?

Need an xbox, need to modify your xbox using either available software or hardware means (voiding any warrantee), likely to preclude you from using xbox live on said modified xbox. http://www.xbox-scene.com/ is your best starting point to educate yourself. Note that some of this information is technically challenging and shrowded in mystery due to the fact that Microsoft and others probably feel modifying xboxes is, or should be, illegal. It’d be good to find a local friend familiar with the topic unless you want to do your own research.
