Unigamer writes “Inspiration for building a car from K’nex came when I wanted to make an R/C Car easily and cheaply. My dad has an old Tamiya Cheetah which I used for parts like the servos, and Remote Control Equipment. If you are planning on doing a project similar to this you will probably need good quality proportional control Radio Control System and a basic knowledge of R/C vehicles”. Link.

Nice use of improvised parts. However, I have to wonder at how much has really been achieved here. After all, cannons powered by explosives have been around since the middle ages.
I once made a pneumatic gun for a Battlebot. See the bottom of this page: http://tinyplanet.com/robots.php
looks pretty unsafe to me, id suggest against firing it… as a veteran spudder i cant reccomend any less than properly solvent welded schedule 40 (NOT cellular core!) pvc. i have a pretty nice propane metered one with interchangeable barrels, 100k volt ignition, chamber fan, and a pretty cool paint job. the best place to research the stuff is probably at the spudtech.com forums. not sure how active they are nowadays but it at least used to be the most professional group of spudders on the web. although i do applaud the use of found materials, i would not fire it unless youre being extremely careful with it.
OK, kids! Let’s make a pressure vessel with some hot glue!
Very very not a good idea.
As far as wondering how much has really been achieved here, who really cares? I thought I was pretty clever when I repaired my spud gun with a beer bottle cap and some duct tape. I know I’m not doing cold fusion here, but it’s a good way to spend an afternoon with a sack of potatoes.
That other way to spend an afternoon with a sack of potatoes, well, let’s just say that the potatoes won’t respect you in the morning.

I should not be the least bit surprised to see you up to something like this. It looks like you had a lot of fun with that thing. It it your new security system? Your grandpa would have gotten a big kick out of reading about your latest escapade! Keep it up BUT… be careful!
