Inside the Workshop – and Mind – of Len Solomon

Len Solomon, Shop Overview with Little Pipe Organ 0829

Oomhalo Pompatronium, button keyboard - 2 octave, chromatic

Guitarist-turned-cabinetmaker and eventually music machine maker and performer Len Solomon was recently interviewed by Noisey’s Nadja Sayej. Len was first reported on here at MAKE back in 2011 for his Oomphalapompatronium (really, that’s what it’s called – see video below). The interview, aptly titled “Len Solomon is the Dr. Seuth of DIY Instruments” is a really wonderful read, and includes a few shots of Solomon’s workshop that makes me want to explore this fantastical space!
