Episode 17 features the lovely and talented:
Tinkercad demo – Liz Arum
Liz Arum is an educator using 3D tools. She’ll tour us through Tinkercad, a browser-based tool for easily creating designs for a 3D printer. We’ll model a small part and Liz will discuss the changing landscape of 3D modeling and printing in schools.
Turtle shell racers – Michael Curry
Michael Curry (aka Skimbal) brings his turtle shell racers, a fleet of almost entirely 3D-printed RC cars. Fresh from the MakerBot Raceway at World Maker Faire, Michael is the resident expert on 3D locomotion, and shows off some of his complex models for printing.
Inside the MakerBot Thing-o-matic – Bre Pettis
Our 3D episode wouldn’t be complete without an exploration of the printers themselves, and so we’ll get a tour of the open source hardware under the hood at MakerBot by the one and only Bre Pettis. Bring your burning 3D questions!
