It was fun to see everyone this past weekend at the Maker Faire CRAFT area! Thanks to everyone who stopped by and said hi. I worked the booth with Tina Barseghian our new Editor in Chief of CRAFT and Becky Stern, fellow CRAFT blogger.
In the area we had lots of crafty demos every hour from how to make your own shoes to soft circuit embroidery. The Needlefelting Playground in the CRAFT Corner by Moxie and Brookelynn was constantly busy with new obsessive needlefelters! I even had a chance to finish my needlefelted cuff I was working on last year by late Sunday afternoon! Read on after the jump for more photos and the full crafty recap.
The Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee was a big hit and spoke on the main stage. She also came by the CRAFT Corner in the afternoon to hang out and knit.
The Crafty Chica herself was there speaking on the Maker Stage and having crafting sessions with her new product line with Duncan at their booth. Read her recap post on her blog.
I saw lots of people get obsessed with their first experience with needlefelting at the Needlefelting Playground in CRAFT Corner run by Moxie and Brookelynn. More photos are in Brookelynn’s Flickr set.
Demos at the CRAFT area were fantastic like this one by Thomas Maiorana who wrote the Open Source Shoes project in the current issue of CRAFT: 07.
Bonnie Burton helped kids make Star Wars Bubble Magnets in the CRAFT Corner on Sunday afternoon. We even got an appearance by R2D2! Read more in Bonnie’s post on the Star Wars Blog.
Garth of Extreme Craft had his Craft Zen Paintball Booth.
Here I am with author of Beadalicious Sonya Nimri (center) and Tina Barseghian (right) our new Editor in Chief of CRAFT. Tina and I met so many fun people while working the booth!
Finally there’s nothing like meeting in real life! I finally got to hang out in person our other fabulous CRAFT bloggers Michelle and Becky! Yay!
