We talked to Bart Pascoli — from Makers Italia — about the current state of the Maker Movement in Italy, from Arduino, to electric hybrid motorcycles, to growing plants in space.
Making in Italy didn’t start with the Arduino, nor did it end when the Arduino became the next immigrant to pass through Ellis Island, and production began in New York just a few weeks ago.
However the influence of the Arduino is obviously strong, as a number of the Italian Makers showcased by the Italian Trade Agency at Maker Faire Bay Area made use of the board under the hood.

As well as the crowd-drawing motorbike other Makers included the two rather disparate 3D printers. One that printed in chocolate, and the other in ceramics.
