A bit of a follow up, we went through the archives and found some of Mark Hoekstra’s projects from EuroOSCON’s Make Fest along with a couple other photos… Here they are in his own words…

  • iPod charger for your bicycle. Use a bicycle to pedal your way to a fully charged iPod.
  • Submergible webcam. A cheap webcam, a hairwax-container and a CD-cover turned into a fully fledged underwater cam.
  • DIY $75 dollar laptop. Inspired by the $100 laptop, meant for children in developing nations, I wanted to make my own. Just by recycling some parts and putting it together in a clever way it’s possible! It’s got a hand-crank and wifi plus it’s cheaper too! Although I guess I’d prefer the real thing, but that one’s better off where it’s meant to be… :-)

  1. Chris R says:

You do not put a greased up metal object in a fish aquarium. Metal + Fish Aquarium = bad.
