New in the Maker Shed – The Heliophone kit

Control sound with light! –

This is an electronics kit suitable for beginners but it DOES require some soldering. With very few parts you can build a tiny solar powered theremin enclosed in an ALTOIDS or like mint tin (NOT INCLUDED). So when the oil runs out, the ice caps melt and civilization crumbles to dust, thanks to the Heliophone, we will still have electronic music :-)

I’d just as soon skip the mint-tin and install this in the front pocket of my lucky blazer – The Solar Powered Theremin (Heliophone) Kit

Build: Solar Theremin

I made this. Great kit! Took less than an hour. Although I have an engineering degree, I think the instructions would be simple enough for a beginner.
I think I’m going to mod mine to take a battery optionally so it can be used with or without sunlight.
