Last year at World Maker Faire New York, Mayor Bloomberg announced that he was designating the week before World Maker Faire New York to be Maker Week. Similar to Fashion Week, we makers have a week to program and celebrate all things maker-related in New York City. Hooray!
This year, with our World Maker Faire New York taking place this upcoming weekend, September 21 and 22, at the New York Hall of Science in Queens, we’re thrilled to see a solid lineup of maker-centric events scheduled for this week. We’ve compiled them on our Maker Week 2013 page for you. There are meetups for educators, hardware aficionados, and Kickstarters, an Atmel analyst panel, a workshop on making makerspaces, a community bike ride to Maker Faire, and of course our very own much anticipated Hardware Innovation Workshop (taking place on Wednesday, September 18).
All the details you need are on the Maker Week page. If you know of a maker event happening during Maker Week, please email us so we can add it to the growing list.
