Raspberry Pi’s Expansion Companion Is Here!

Raspberry Pi hackers who are pushing their boards to the limit in terms of I/O will be delighted to learn that the Gertboard is now available for purchase as a kit. The announcement comes after a teaser post earlier today on the Raspberry Pi blog. The board comes with a variety of components such as buttons, LEDs, analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, a motor controller and even an ATmega328P microcontroller. While it’s not an official Raspberry Pi Foundation product, they do say that they “endorse it wholeheartedly.” The exclusive distributor, Element-14, is taking preorders now and will start shipping units in mid-September.
