Ready, Set, Repeat After Me!

Combine components from two Mintronics kits and build Repeat After Me: A Mintronics Memory Game. The brain of the game, the MintDuino, is an Arduino clone that is a project unto itself. Then you’ll wire up a four-switch game board on a mini breadboard. For this step, you could twist together the wires that connect the switches to ground, making this project entirely solderless, although it is recommended that you do the (light) soldering. Lastly, you upload the supplied code and you’re ready to play!

Reminiscent of Simon and Pocket Repeat from the dawn of electronic handheld games, this Weekend Project will test your brain’s memory and dexterity. Like those games, Repeat After Me will speed up and add a step to the sequence with each successful round. Unlike those games, you are free to customize the code running this one. You could also transfer the circuits to PCB and mount them in a pocket-portable case of your own design. Then challenge yourself or a friend to see who has the best memory!
