Realistic Portraits in Denim

Artist Kumi Yamashita is creating a series of incredible portraits in denim, which she simply removes some of the threads from in order to make images.

Sometimes there is something beautiful about things falling apart. Undoing one thing while simultaneously creating another. Here I’ve taken regular denim material and removed portions of the weave to create the images.
