Mechanix Illustrated in 1939 had these spring heeled shoes, and just a couple years ago I saw new versions in a store, neato. If you look at the pages of all these old magazines, even the somewhat “out there” ideas, all seem to eventually make an appearance again… – Link.

They’re great until you start walking down stairs and the spring-heel catches on a stair and makes you trip.
I love mine(zcoil, shoe, sandals, and boots), i’ve been wearing them since about 1999, they make a hell of a difference if you have joint problems!
