Sister Diane points us to this hilariously awesome, tongue-in-cheek organization called The Macrame Owl.
This organisation is dedicated to saving, rehabilitating and reviving the Macramé Owl.
The Macramé Owl is a rare species that is dreadfully declining in numbers worldwide. This heartbreaking situation is partly due to the difficulty in finding jute at local craft shops. It is further exacerbated by a lack of a sense of humour in humans for the sake of Seriousity
.
You can browse “Macrame Owl Spotting” pictures of the craft creatures in the wild, learn about the varieties of known macrame owls, hear clips of macrame owl calls and learn about macrame owl rescue missions. I love reading their “About Us” page and seeing pictures of them rescuing macrame owls from the wild. This might be one of my favorite things I’ve seen … ever. I only wish I’d known about it when I spotted a macrame owl at an estate sale a few weeks ago. I hope someone in the know was able to rescue it!
