This week at Treehugger:

An office chair made from an Audi driver’s seat. Cant afford an electric scooter? Try a dog-powered one. And, we find lamps made from recycled plastic bottles.

 Audi Chair

Anthony Pagani loved his Audi so much, he couldn’t bear to let it all go when it finally went dead. He salvaged quite a few parts for his new car, but had a special project in mind for his driver’s seat. Anthony welded a store bought office chair base to his driver’s seat and in a day had a unique and uber-comfortable office chair. Thankfully for us, he decided to share it with us as a part of our “Old Faithful” contest – and ended up winning! The “Audi office chair” is proof that it is often more rewarding to reuse than to simply dispose.

Dog Scooter

Some people love to take their dogs on walks. It must be all of that fresh air and exercise that I have been hearing so much about. I would much rather get “The Original Dog Powered Scooter” to take my pooch out. The environmental impact is next to nothing, and at the cost of the scooter plus maybe a doggie treat for the end of the ride – this is one of the cheapest rides you are going to find.

Plastic Lights

Finally, what do you get when you add fluorescent lights to old laundry detergent bottles? Pretty darn cool lamps, apparently. Julien Lwin blends DIY ingenuity with modern design to create lamps than are both fashionable and eco-friendly. It just goes to show that some of the best DIY projects are the simplest ones.
