Wah! The download link doesn’t work!
Nice, just don’t take this with you to the airport.
What diameter wire did you use to wrap the coil, probably 28 or 30 gauge right? Two AA NiMH batteries in series running at about one amp will supply a little more than 2 volts total, so you need about a 2 ohms resistance to draw one amp. 30 gauge wire is 1 ohm / 10 feet which is about 3 ohms for 30 feet. 28 gauge wire is 1 ohm / 15 feet which is 2 ohms for 30 feet.
When kip was talking about how cold it was, temperature never rised above etc. youtube AD showed: Holyday in israel, book online now.
I made one of these when I was in fourth grade. The kids at the bus stop in the winter called me a nerd. Yeah, well, this nerd had toasty hands.
Great timing for that project Kip. I remember using tons of the one time use hand warmers when I was growing up in Winnipeg (has the nickname Winterpeg) this sure would have saved some money back then!

two questions:
1) i read somewhere that making right angles in heating coils as opposed to curves reduces the heat produced. is this true?
2) would using 10 feet of wire instead of 30 give 300 degrees instead of 100? if not, is there a way to do this?
thanks and great project!
Hello,
Keeping warm at home is important and as spring shows signs of appearing it’s tempting to warm up a room with an electric heater.
