If you follow Make: at all, you probably know that Maker Faire is next weekend. But that’s just part of what’s going on. This is Maker Week, which means we’re promoting maker events all over the Bay Area, from the business-oriented MakerCon to workshops to the Pitch Your Prototype competition. There are dozens of ways to get involved; check out our announcement and sign up for one or more activities.
This is about more than just fun events. Maker Week is a celebration of the maker mindset, the creativity to build great things, and the tools to make it happen. It coincides with the city of San Mateo’s “Innovation Week,” an event-laden showcase by Maker Faire’s host city. Maker Week ranges a bit further, including San Francisco’s TechShop and Kickstarter, and Oakland’s The Crucible, but the spirit is similar.
For us (and likely for you) every week is Maker Week. But we’re making this one special. Come see how!
