Trust our friends Lenore and Windell at Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories to take something most of us take for granted and explore it thoroughly.     I’m personally a fan of using old CRT monitors to visualize magnetic fields. Of course, it completely ruins the monitor, but who the hell uses CRTs anymore anyways? You can probably find one in a junk bin at work or something.
