This is like the work aircraft restoration volunteers are doing at the USS Midway Museum in San Diego. They recently finished restoring a Douglas Dauntless (SBD) that was at the bottom of Lake Michigan for about 60 years. You can’t tell it ever left the factory floor, although I don’t know if it’s flyable.

I’m a volunteer in the exhibits department there, and I’m in the process of making a 1961 vintage Univac computer look like it’s running.
