Bike mod – “Your Daddy’s in the House”

Mypk8 posted up this great modded bicycle – “Created from an old Schwinn tandem – I think it was a Varsity. I cut it up and added a drafting table leg for the down tube. Then filled the holes in with bondo to give it a spine sort of look. I used the triple trees from a purchase on ebay. I removed the stock legs and used some galvanized pipe with wheel mount tabs welded on to really rake it out. Topped off with a spiderweb gusset for that CFL look. If your not at least 6′ you’ll just have to watch. The bike is actually quite comfortable and it’s strong enough to stand up and crank on it to get up hills. Lots of fun.”Link.

Post your bicycle creation up in the MAKE Flickr photo pool! – Link.

Good 4130 seamless steel tubing is easily available. It would make a nice, safer, replacement for that galvanized pipe.
