Todd Stiers has made one awesome looking, and sounding, electric motorcycle. Let’s hope this becomes more of a “normal” thing to see riding around the streets. Now, let the debate about the batteries and the source of power begin. – Link

I’ve been following Todd Stier’s progress a lot lately, while converting my VFR700 to electric. He’s done a nice job. He’s currently trying to port Alltrax software to the PDA.
Congrats for the make mention todd!

Hey, at least send a link to the author when you are posting.
Flattered all the same,
Todd
PS: PDA gauge is almost there, see the blog of course
I’m thinking of a DIY electric trail bike conversion – anyone tackle this recently? I’m in early planning stages and have a bunch of questions.
I found these guys, Zero Motorcycles, in Santa Cruz, California who make a ready-to-ride electric trail bike, but I’m interested in putting it together myself. My early calcs on weight have me wondering how Zero got their bike weight so low. Their batteries, frame and motor must be custom made since off the shelf stuff is coming in about 100# heavier, a big diff.
Imagine a no noise, light motorcycle for trails; it will change the nature/motorcycle equation big time!
