HOW TO – Make unicycle snow chains

Chains Wheel2
Ben writes “I’ve been riding my bicycle to school every day this year but then the snow came… A racing bike just didn’t cut it. It was time to throw the snow chains back on the unicycle. I first made the chains a few years ago and have since seen similar pictures online. Surprisingly, it is pretty easy to ride under the right snow conditions. If you too want to give it a try, here’s all you need to do” [via] – Link.

This was a fun project to do back when I was in college but the chain I selected had the bad habit of wearing through too fast, especially if I ever rode it between patches of snow. It also caused me a flat or two. Still, worth the effort, if only for the weird looks.

Here is the link to my page about it.
