    If it has seeds, it is a fruit (including seedless varieties that normally have seeds). If it doesn’t have seeds it is a vegetable. Broccoli, asparagus, brussels sprouts are vegetables. Tomatoes, pumpkins, squash, and cucumbers all have seeds and are all fruits.
