bwahaha! name me ONE benifit that has over just walking….
i think it’s funnier than walking – so that counts :)
You know, if someone threw a gearing system and an idler onto it, this might be better than just walking.

This is one of the stupidest things I’ve seen in a while. You get the worst of walking and the worst of cycling combined!
Watching the operation of this, it seems that the rider moves forward at a 1:1 rate with stepping — in other words, just the same as if he or she were walking alongside. A variable gearbox/derailleur system might be a good idea, but I don’t think people will ever quite quit laughing. I can’t wait for the Segway version….
hey, if you sloped it the other way, you could be always walking downhill!
and then you could put a fan behind you, and the wind would always be at your back!
i want it to have a gearbox, a folding mechanism like a Razor right at the steering axle, and a better announcer.
other than that, this is a great geek way to get around. funkymcspud, you miss the point, its not always about finding a better way of doing something. sometimes finding a new way will leave the doors open for someone to improve on it. imagine if we just tried to make incandescent lamps better instead of researching LED’s? we would have the hottest mp3 players ever! they’d last for a hundred hours and would shatter if we dropped them.
