You may remember that earlier this summer Maker Camp visited The Crucible. For the uninitiated, the Crucible is a gem in Oakland, Calif. where classes are primarily taught at the intersection between liquid and solid of various materials. This includes blacksmithing, moldmaking, glassblowing, ceramics, and a whole lot more. Many fire-breathing projects have also come out of the Crucible and made their way to Burning Man.

This Saturday, Sept. 7, they’ll be holding an open house from 12-5 pm. There will be a demonstration on how artisanal tableware is made to go along with the refreshments served by local vendors.

They’ll also have all their workshops opens for live demonstrations. More information is on the Crucible’s site With school back in session, maybe it’s time to sign up for a class and get your hands dirty.
