Exploding Pumpkins and Homemade Clouds With Science Bob

Jimmy Kimmel’s resident maker Science Bob conducted some live experiments on television recently (see videos below) and it reminded some of us around the MAKE water cooler of his stage presentations at New York’s World Maker Faire back in September (see video above). The Kimmel videos include a terrific closing segment of a laser-powered exploding pumpkin. Meanwhile, his stage presentation at World Maker Faire was filled with geek trivia (including the title of Queen Amidala‘s science fair project title and Mayam Bialik‘s double-life as an actual neuroscientist when not playing one on t.v.), an elephant toothpaste experiment, a picture of Science Bob’s Trek-like classroom, and of course his own personal favorite experiment for audiences you have to see to believe.

Science Bob has a pair of forthcoming Nick and Tesla books to teach kids science experiments they can conduct around the house.
