California residents wondering if tomorrow’s forecast will be sunny now can find out if there’s also a chance of afternoon tremors. For the first time, they can check a daily earthquake forecast on the Internet just as easily as they check the weather. I wish they’d publish the data source so we could make some “real” ambiant-orb like displays, physical projects that “shake” a map and web widgets with this. Current Forecast. Link.

I am seriously concerned that the nation is not prepared for a major natural catastrophe. From my academically informed perspective there is a growing possibility that the entire Pacific Rim is on the move.
With so much energy and effort gone into the shock and awe of death and destruction in behest of the military industrial complex, it isn’t difficult to envision a moment in our history where the country is left without enough military forces on the ground to make massive airlifts or put out massive forest fires, evacuate entire cities or enforce quarantine measures.
Strange And True
If anyone has any question of the possibility of a major seismic tumbler in the works make your own research into what nature’s most effective earthquake predictor the peafowl are doing in California’s zoos and the arboretum in Arcadia CA. They are beginning to make very large aggregations as they were documented doing in Japan by Yamashina in the forties. When these heavy ground birds take to aggregating and migrating enmasse, people should pay close attention. THe birds have been used for centuries for earthquake prediction in Asian countries.
