Matt Blaze’s paper is a good read in of itself, but the coolest thing is how he uses this physical-world parallel to explore similar problems in computer-based security. It’s a good lesson … one good way to get fresh ideas is to explore other disciplines, learn what problems they have and how they are solved, and then applying this knowledge back to the original discipline.
