OSC library for Arduino

From the MAKE Flickr pool

Flickr member Recotana brings good news for Arduino users in the form of a new code library which facilitates control via the network optimized OSC data protocol. The above video demonstrates basic functionality using the iOSC app for iPhone OS, but the library could be used with any OSC software connected to Arduino. Download the relevant software + documentation from Recotana’s site.

i know this is a little late on this post but…

if i have this right, to pull this off i would need the following:
    ipodtouch/iphone w/ iOSc installed
    arduino w/ ethernet shield
    wireless router

this all looks pretty interesting… i have all that minus the ethernet shield. its just that i find myself wondering why not just use the computer as the input device (instead of the iphonepodtouch)? what is gained? seems like it would be simpler (less hardware needed) to do this w/o the iphonepodtouch. am i missing something, or is this just a super-geek-indulgence?

I hear where you’re coming from – still, using the iTouch here would give one far more ability then a desktop or even laptop computer. It would likely be useful for art/performance and similar situations.

…seriously! why do i need a computer between the arduino and the iTouch at all!? it would be really awesome if one could talk to the arduino board over wifi directly with you itouch.

would the black widow 1.0 work with the setup?
