CircuitPeople made a site where you can upload Gerbers in a zip file for easy viewing (PNG) via Ladyada. Also check out gerbv.

There’s nothing to see there. No example, nothing.
I tried it, it worked. No brainer. Good job
It even figured out the correct layers from my cryptic 10 year old software!
http://www.gerbercheck.com is another site that offers this — it also give you min. track width and spacing, useful for sense-checking PCB designs before sending them off for fab.
