This is a nice DIY picture frame that will light up when you receive a Skype call or Instant Message. The schematics are available on the website, but unfortunately the code was lost during a re-install. If you want to make this project you need to be able to program the PIC18f2220 and create the Visual Basic program from scratch.
Don’t want to get off the couch to se who’s online on Skype or MSN? Me neither! That’s why I’ve built myself a LED illuminated picture frame that indicate who’s online on my instant messenger.

Reminds me of the call indicators on Tracy Island in Thunderbirds. Neat idea!!
I was going to say the same thing, VorlonKen. all you’d need to do is cut holes in the eyes of the photos and voila!
If you read the original post, however, you’ll discover that the guy who made this says he lost the source code that makes it all work and he doesn’t plan to rewrite it because he “likes to move on to new things rather than finalize old ones”. Pity. Maybe someone here can gin up the code.
Very nice realisation. But for me it’s useless
